Homeless find support in Occupy Baltimore camp
Oct 27th
Marcus Clary beams when he shows off his new home by the Inner Harbor.
The place isn’t much, just an orange tent under a blue tarp that fits four, but it’s the best digs by far he’s had in three weeks. Before, he was at a homeless shelter.
“At the shelter, you got one meal a day, and it was a small TV dinner and water. Here, the food is way better,” the 21-year-old said. “I have lived at a lot worse places. We have mats here, sleeping bags over the mats, and blankets on top of that.”
Occupy Baltimore Asked To Scale Back
Oct 26th
Protesters with Occupy Baltimore say city officials want them to scale back their presence at a downtown plaza.
A copy of the city’s response to Occupy Baltimore’s permit obtained by The Associated Press shows that, starting Wednesday, only two people will be allowed to stay overnight as night watchmen in one tent in McKeldin Square by the Inner Harbor. Everyone else must leave by midnight. The city will provide 10 shelters, but it is restricting the group to a smaller space in the plaza than they are already occupying.
Breitbart Smears Occupy Baltimore
Oct 20th
A lot of strangers are thrust together at the Occupy camps, and I had read that a woman complained about being hit on by three different men on her first visit to the Occupy Baltimore (OB) site. So it isn’t a surprise that OB would take steps to deal with the problem of sexual harassment. But yesterday’s Baltimore Sun carries this article, ‘Occupy’ memo could discourage victims from reporting assaults.

Another Houston loss is Baltimore’s gain
Oct 12th
First Andre Johnson, now Mario Williams. The Ravens are catching a huge break on both sides of the ball entering their matchup with Houston.
The Texans lost Johnson – their top offensive playmaker – to a hamstring injury last week, and yesterday, they lost Williams – their All-Pro defensive end and top defensive playmaker – to a torn pectoral muscle.
That means Gary Kubiak’s team will be without both star players when they take on the Ravens this Sunday at M&T Bank Stadium.
Patch Readers Sound Off on Occupy Baltimore
Oct 6th
First we can have an impact to educate the other 99%ers who either don’t know the details of hidden power structures controlling our lives and/or how to make lasting change. By educating ourselves we can become stronger (ie why do so many politicians keep cutting public education or completely ignoring it? because it keeps the majority ignorant).
Through joining in a physical space together and through the education we can become a greater force that won’t stop until we make positive change in our democratic system.
Protesters gather at ‘Occupy Baltimore’ event
Oct 5th
Some are out of work. Some can’t afford to visit a doctor. Others are sick of corporate greed. Most blame financial institutions for the tumbling economy. They think the rich are trampling on the poor and middle class and getting away with it.
They’re fed up, and they’re willing to camp out in downtown Baltimore to voice their complaints.
Protesters staging Baltimore’s version of Occupy Wall Street converged on the Inner Harbor on Tuesday, bringing an array of grievances but one common theme — corporate America and government have bankrupted the country and their pocketbooks.
