Today Cardinal-Designate Edwin O’Brien made his first public appearance since returning from Rome, and his appointment to the College of Cardinals. He talked about a trip he’s taking to Haiti, and about his replacement.

He says his replacement in Baltimore has not been named yet, but he believes someone will be named in the next two or three weeks. In addition to his future plans, Cardinal-Designate O’Brien also addressed the same-sex marriage legislation Governor O’Malley is hoping to get passed during the current session.
